Georgette + Brett :: Wedding at the Beachmoor (Part III)

    Sunday, October 25, 2009

Click here for the engagement post, here for part I and here for part II, and then once you're all caught up, grab a cup of coffee/glass of wine and settle in for part III

We're back at the Beachmoor Inn after the wedding ceremony, sneaking in a few pictures before the heavens open again (remember, rain = good luck!), a little breeze catches Georgette's veil:

There is a lone pair of Adirondack chairs off to the side and the newly married couple sit down for a quiet minute.

We then head inside for the formal announcement of the new Mr & Mrs Young, I'm feeling the old Hollywood thing again:

    The first dance:

The toasts are given by Brett's brothers:

Good toast = Big hug from brother

But then, instead of Brett's other brother, the second toast is given by Dr. Greg House from the popular Fox TV show:

    House is funny:

    Let them eat cake:

Time for some parent dances, did I mention I love Brett's Mom's dress - tres chic:

The rain is still pouring down but we head outside for a quick picture.

I love this picture, mainly because Brett is holding the umbrella in such a way that Georgette stays dry somewhat at his expense. And this is what marriage is all about - putting each other first. So congratulations you two - wishing you love, laughter, health and happiness together.

This fantastic song by Aqualung is called "Brighter than Sunshine" (click to get a copy on itunes) and I think it fits Georgette & Brett perfectly - their wedding and love was totally brighter than sunshine....

    Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux

    Saturday, October 24, 2009

Yesterday, I posted a preview of Brett and Georgette before their wedding, and so now let's continue...

...one last "getting ready" shot before we head off to the ceremony...how cute are the flower girls?

Brett and Georgette chose The Beachmoor Inn at Buzzards Bay for their ceremony; primarily so they could get married outside overlooking the beach. When the weather didn't comply (in a BIG way, it was torrential rain, flooding, the whole nine yards), I know they were a little disappointed.

But let's consider what the French have to say on the topic of rain during a wedding - Marriage pluvieux, marriage heureux - which means "a rainy wedding equals a happy marriage". And it's not just the French who believe in this concept. Ask the Italians and they'll say "Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata" which roughly translates as a wet bride equals a lucky and happy bride.

So back to the wedding, as Georgette entered on the arm of her father, there was an old Hollywood feel, so I've added a little old Hollywood feel to this image:

And I have to post this one, Georgette's brother escorted their Mom down the aisle, love the way he gently hugs her before she sits to watch her daughter get married...

Laughter during the ceremony is brilliant - everyone relaxes a little bit and it makes the day that little bit sweeter:

During the ceremony, the couple were asked to hold hands. Brett held his hands out and Georgette placed her hands in his, and it looked just like home:

By the power vested in me by the state of my blog, may I present to you the new Mr & Mrs Young:

Meet the parents; loving the understated style of Brett's Mom and Georgette's Mom.

    Hello beautiful bridesmaids:

The guys didn't want to be outdone:

Can't beat a little wedding party jumping right?

I'm getting close to slowing down your computer due to too many images so I'm stopping here and starting a new post with the reception....

    Georgette + Brett :: Married (Part I)

    Friday, October 23, 2009

So I've been hard at work processing all the beautiful images from Brett & Georgette's wedding at The Beachmoor Inn in Buzzards Bay, MA and although I'm not quite finished I can't help but share just a few for your viewing pleasure. Check back in tomorrow for the full story - it'll be worth it...

Georgette is getting ready with her bridesmaids and parents, time for a quiet moment of contemplation:

Meanwhile, Brett is getting some help fastening those pesky cufflinks and humoring me when I tell him "smile for your GQ style headshot". Hello handsome groom:

Georgette is simply radiant. If you head over to google and type in "stunning bride" I suspect this image may pop up in the search results

Yay for romance! Brett sends over a gift of pearls and a thoughtful card telling Georgette how much he is looking forward to her being his wife.

Check back in tomorrow for part II with the ceremony, the toasts (including a special appearance from Dr. Gregory House from the popular Fox TV show), the dancing and much more.

Don't be shy now - say hello, congratulate Brett & Georgette - click on "view comments for this post" and leave your thoughts!

Reasons to choose your wedding photographer carefully:

    Wednesday, October 21, 2009

This poor couple in the UK ended up with just 22 photographs that could be used from their wedding. I usually deliver 30-60 images minimum per hour of shooting (and more if I have a second shooter) but then I also make sure to not chop off the bride's head during the ceremony. Photography 101....

Kristine + Marc :: Almost Married...

    Saturday, October 3, 2009

Next weekend Kristine & Marc will get married! Whooo hoooo. I for one can't wait because it's virtually impossible to take a bad picture of these two lovebirds.

I remember meeting them both for the first time in Starbucks in Newburyport. Kristine was clutching a big white wedding planning file and I thought "ah ha, a big planner, all about the wedding", I couldn't have been more wrong. The file sat unopened on a chair and Kristine just talked about how excited she was to be married to Marc. Marc sat across from Kristine with the biggest smile on his face each time he looked at her.

I want everyone who books me as their wedding photographer to feel 110% confident in their choice and so I encourage every couple I meet to go home and talk together before they make any decision. I sent Kristine & Marc off with a lunch recommendation and wished really hard that they would choose me to photograph their wedding. When I got this email from Kristine later that night I was SO happy

"So, Marc and I agree that you would be the perfect fit for us! It took all that I had to not run back over to Starbucks and tell you that. By the way we went to Me and Ollie's for lunch and it was awesome."

We did a mini shoot at Salisbury Beach a while back and then met up again to do their full lifestyle shoot in Newburyport. So much fun! Click on the little white "play" triangle for a mini movie

Denise + Krikor :: Married at the Hyatt, Boston (Part III)

If you're just joining us for the first time, you might want to check out part I (ceremony) or part II (fun with the wedding party) of Denise & Krikor's wedding blog.

We're now back at the Hyatt, Boston for the reception:

Before heading up the grand staircase to greet their guests for cocktail hour, the newlyweds had a little moment alone.

The talented Derrick Morin of Morin photography was second shooting for me and captured the next two detail shots whilst I was with the bride and groom, love this shot of the ballroom just waiting for the guests to stream in through the mirrored French doors...

The wedding cake was a work of art from Konditor Meister

Krikor's family had a stunning jewelry collection as a gift for their new daughter in law:

Ashod is Krikor's brother and was his best man. He spoke about the time that Krikor brought Denise to their family home in Lebanon and how he knew they were just right for one another.

The toasts from the Matron and Maid of Honor, Alison and Cheryle, were amongst the most eloquent and heartfelt I have ever heard. They have both known Denise since childhood and spoke with so much love about how happy they were for her and Krikor.

Denise's dad talked about how much he loves his daughter and how is so pleased to welcome Krikor and his family into his.

Cake cutting with sparklers and a sword - does it get any better?

The feeding of each other with the cake was gentle and Krikor only had a tiny bit of frosting on his nose

Love this picture of Denise laughing and dancing hand-in-hand with her Mom and new Mother-in-law

Lots of traditional Lebanese dancing, with foot stamping, arms in the air, so much fun! And throughout it all Krikor kept Denise's hand in his.

My time stamp on the next picture was 11:48pm, the fabulous day was coming to a close and Denise & Krikor are still smiling and dancing together

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Krumlian. I googled some traditional Lebanese toasts and well wishes and found one that I thought was just beautiful...
May you grow old together on one pillow

    Vendor recommendations:
Denise & Tamara's hair: Katia from Enzo & Company, Newbury St, Boston
Makeup and bridesmaids hair: Martha Romano and Nicole
DJ (excellent, no silly/cheesy games or nonsense); Matt Forde from Good Times Unlimited
Flowers (totally exquisite and beautiful, my favorite flowers of 2009 so far!): One Main Street Studio, Stow, MA

Lynn + Eric :: Married at Harris' Pelham Inn

    Friday, October 2, 2009

There was still a hint of morning dew on the plants on Lynn & Eric's deck on the morning they got married.

Lynn's dress hung carefully in the closet

The morning sun was shining and so was Lynn as she got ready.
Lauri, Lynn's Mom, helped with her hair and was also her Matron of Honor.

In just a few more hours, Eric would hold Lynn's hand and gently place this ring on her finger whilst making his vows and Lynn would do the same.

Check out the smiles on Lynn's parents as they help Lynn out of the limo

The ceremony took place on the waterfront at the beautiful Harris' Pelham Inn. The sky really was this blue. No photoshop tomfoolery!

Love the way these two look at each other!
The best man at Lynn's parents wedding played the guitar during the ceremony
We did some relaxed family portraits in the blazing August sun, here's one with Lynn's Mom and Grandmother. and then it was time for a little alone moment for the newlyweds.
This little guy was somewhat perplexed and curious about what was under Lynn's dress

We then headed inside, the flowers were stunning:

    Time for the parent dances

There may have been a few tears from our groom

What a beautiful day! I'll leave you with a picture of the new Mr & Mrs Paris dancing together
