Boston Harbor Hotel Wedding :: Boston Photographer :: Amanda + Mike (Part I)

As a wedding photographer based in New England I think I'm kind of spoiled. One weekend I can be photographing a rustic barn wedding in Maine, the next weekend an intimate wedding at a vineyard in New Hampshire and the following weekend I'll be in a stunning ballroom in Boston.

It's hard to pick a favorite Boston venue but the Boston Harbor Hotel is my new wedding venue crush.
1. It's such an iconic Boston building - that arch....
2. Location - the hotel ovelooks the harbor, amazing outdoor cocktail hour options, all sorts of interesting picture locations
3. It's a photographer's dream in terms of locations to use, beautiful light, stunning ballrooms etc
4. Michael Boivin and Cortney Gould along with all of the hotel staff are amazing. This should probably be point #1. They are on top of everything, super organized, professional and friendly and you can tell they really care about each and every event. I always find it interesting to see how venues treat wedding vendors in general - my theory being that if they're nice to vendors you can bet they're amazing with your guests.
5. The Wharf Room is beautiful, you have the most amazing view of the ocean and then the twinkly lights as night falls.

I could go on and on but I'm guessing you probably want to see some real wedding pictures right? Today is Amanda & Mike's wedding at the Boston Harbor Hotel, we started in Amanda's suite with some detail pictures:

Wedding stationery by Invitations & Co:

Loved the pop of purple in the flowers by Edison of Madison Floral

Amanda's wedding dress was from Allegria Bridal, if you think it looks good on the hanger wait until you see it on Amanda!

The rooms at the Boston Harbor Hotel have some of the most amazing views in the city:

What's that? You'd like to see more of the view?

Oh, forgive me, you'd like to see more of the shoes?

Amanda's Mom Joan surprised her with blue Swarovski crystals spelling out "I do":

Hair by Jennifer Tawa and make up by Elizabeth Moon - everybody looked amazing :)

Amanda took a moment to write a note to Mike:

Mike was happy to read the note and just as happy to open his gift of an ipad.

Mike's brother and best man Richard had been practicing his bow-tying skills:

Back with the girls, it was time for Amanda to get into her wedding dress helped by Mom Joan and sisters Wendy & Alyssa. Wendy started to cry and did the universal hand-fluttering move to try to stop the tears:

Mike had sent over his own note and gifts for Amanda. The perfect combination of practical - water shoes for their upcoming honeymoon - and beautiful diamond earrings:

Amanda and Mike chose to do a first look so they could relax and enjoy their cocktail hour and reception without having to duck out to take pictures. Hoorah! I'll let these pictures speak for themselves:

I love first looks :) it's usually the only time you'll have together on your wedding day. We had just enough time to take a little stroll to the park near the hotel:

We walked back to the Boston Harbor Hotel to take some pictures with Amanda & Mike's families and their wedding party:

While I was taking this picture of the guys, my ridiculously talented second photographer Lindsay of Lindsay Flanagan Photography took one of the girls hanging out:

With that it was time for the Ketubah signing. Cantor Robin Sparr did a magnificent job:

Amanda and Mike are officially husband and wife! Everybody congratulated them and went home. Amanda and Mike lived happily ever after. The End.

Kidding! Well, not the happily ever after part :) You didn't really think we were finished did you? We've still got the wedding ceremony coming up! the hora! cocktail hour! toasts! dancing! Coming soon....
