Boston Elopement Photographer :: Mamma Maria Wedding :: Sarah + Bill

Most weekends you can find me in big ballrooms and fancy barns photographing weddings with hundreds of guests and huge wedding parties for over 12 hours. So it's quite a treat to photograph an intimate mid-week wedding for just a couple of hours. And even more of a treat when the couple is Sarah and Bill who were just lovely to work with.

The wedding ceremony and celebration dinner was at Mamma Maria in the North End of Boston. If you haven't eaten here you are missing out. It's also a beautiful location for a small wedding reception.

This was a very relaxed wedding yet Sarah and Bill had also thoughtfully provided transportation for their guests (excellent idea as parking in the North End is nigh on impossible). Sarah helped her grandmother across the cobblestones and although we didn't do an official first look I loved Bill's expression seeing Sarah for the first time:
Carol Merletti performed the short but sweet ceremony upstairs in the terrace room:
Immediately after the ceremony Sarah & Bill's closest friends and family enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails and we snuck out for the fastest portrait session ever so they could get back to enjoying the party.
Sarah was a girl after my own heart in her cute red shoes and I am also enjoying Bill's choice of footwear:
Back at Mamma Maria's we took some relaxed family pictures in North Square:
I always have a soft spot for grandparents:
The champagne was poured, glasses raised and I left everyone to enjoy the best Italian food in Boston in peace!
Sarah & Bill! What a wonderful way to spend a Friday afternoon! It was a pleasure to photograph your wedding ceremony and Sarah - so lovely to meet in person after our phone conversations! Wishing you both a long and happy life together!!!
