Tupper Manor Wedding Pictures :: Kristen + Jon

At exactly this time twelve days ago, Kristen was shaking a tambourine and singing "Girls just wanna have fun" with the Lisa Love Experience but let's start at the beginning.  It was one of those perfect late fall/early winter days - crisp blue skies and sunshine - and it was made even better by the fact it was Kristen & Jon's wedding day! When they initially met Kristen was wearing a red M&M costume and Jon was dressed as a soccer player (Halloween party). I'll be honest, I had high hopes they might reprise the outfits at the wedding but when they chose to wear traditional wedding attire I channeled ChloĆ«, my six-year old Goddaughter and told myself "You get what you get and you don't get upset."

I picked out an interesting looking book on marriage from the library as a backdrop for Kristen and Jon's wedding rings:

Kristen's wedding dress was from La Reine:

After hair and make up (shout out to the always fabulous Joanne of Joya Beauty) Kristen's mom Linda and sister Lindsay helped her into her dress:

Kristen - really?

Audrey started her day with Jon and the guys...

After a shot of Wild Turkey (a tradition for Jon and his friends) it was time for Kristen and Jon to see one another. If you're getting married in the winter it's important to remember that it's going to get dark around 4pm so if you want to take advantage of daylight then doing a first look is an option to consider. Not only is it a little quiet time for the two of you away from the hubbub of the wedding day but we can get all of the formal pictures out of the way leaving you free to enjoy cocktail hour with your friends and family. Kristen walked along the private path...

...and here's Jon seeing her for the first time

Kristen was just as excited to see Jon:

If the first time you see each other is at the top of the aisle then not only do you have the eyes of ALL of your guests watching you both but you also can't talk, hug, kiss as there's a ceremony to get started!

Tupper Manor is one of my very favorite wedding venues on the North Shore. It's kind of a dream location. It was chilly but Kristen and Jon were game for a little walk down to the private beach:

Did I mention the private beach? ;)

This was one of my favorite images from the day:

We made our way back to the mansion to meet up with the wedding party and families for pictures:

Kristen's flower girl decided her job description included personally handing flowers to Kristen throughout the day:

The balcony at Tupper Manor rivals the balcony at Buckingham Palace in my opinion:

As it got dark it was time to board the party bus to travel to First Parish Church in Manchester-by-the-sea, MA for the wedding ceremony.

Jon was just as happy to see Kristen for the second time:

Proud father of the bride Mike walked Kristen down the aisle. All of the guests had their cell phones at the ready...

Kristen's sister sang Bless The Broken Road as friends and family participated in the ring warming tradition (the wedding rings are passed between friends and family who hold them and think of blessings and hopes for the couple)

First Parish Church was fairly dark by the time the ceremony started. With no flash allowed during the ceremony I was more thankful than ever for the D4 cameras I shoot with. For the technically minded the majority of the ceremony was shot at ISO 8000, f/2.8 and shutter speeds of 1/100th - 1/150th of a second - let's just say I was bracing myself against the wall and breathing out very slowly to prevent any blur with my 70-200mm!

Happy Kristen and Jon! And married!!!

Guests made their way back to Tupper Manor for cocktail hour and the wedding reception. I've photographed a number of weddings at Tupper Manor, it's such a beautiful North Shore wedding venue. Where else can you find a stunning ballroom, elegant bridal suite, balcony, fountain AND a private beach?!? Not to mention the most amazing team that really care about your event. I'll be back at Tupper Manor as the photographer for Emily & John's wedding on December 28th and I can't wait!

The dining room looked beautiful with centerpieces by the always amazing Les Fleurs, gold chiavari chairs and floating votives:

The ring bearers were officially off-duty and enjoyed a game of hand-pool during cocktail hour:

Kristen and Jon made their grand entrance (this awesome shot from the back is Audrey's) and then went straight into their first dance

Toasts were next. The ever-amazing Long Haul Films were in attendance and I can't wait to watch the wedding trailer and re-listen to the toasts again because they were pretty awesome.

Parent dances

I can't say enough good things about The Lisa Love Experience. This was the second wedding I've photographed when Lisa and the band have played and they are just PHENOMENAL. Super professional, amazingly friendly, Lisa has an amazing voice and they just know exactly what to play to get people up on the dancefloor - whether it's a slow song or that song that's on the radio 24/7.

Lisa convinced Kristen to join her for "Girls just wanna' have fun." and Kristen KILLED it on the tambourine

I make no secret of my love for all grandmothers. I can't wait to see mine in a few weeks for Christmas so in the meantime I'll share these happy pictures of Kristen with her grandmother:

One last picture...
Kristen and Jon - can you get married again because that was so much fun it didn't even feel like work! Both of your families were so much fun and so welcoming. If you'd like to do any kind of trash the dress shoot - I'm thinking an M&M wearing a wedding dress? - then I'm there in a heartbeat! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and laughter, health and happiness!!!

Next up I think I'll have an engagement session, a newborn shoot and then it'll be time for Mary & Mark's winter wedding at Tewksbury Country Club!
