Wellesley Country Club Wedding Pictures + St John the Evangelist Church :: Amara + Christopher

Just shy of their first month anniversary it's time to share pictures from Amara & Chris's most fabulous wedding at Wellesley Country Club. We started our day at the club where Amara and Chris were getting ready. The wedding stationery was by Crane from Papyrus in Cambridge.

Lotus Flower Events created all of the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces for the wedding, I loved the little board that the boutonnieres were delivered on:

I have to give thanks to Audrey who spotted this book on the book shelf and suggested it would make a good wedding ring picture.

Amara and the girls were in the middle of hair and make up with Lypor of Teal Hair & Make Up Studio

Audrey started her day with Chris and the guys having lunch over by the pool

The guys headed up to the boardroom to put on their tuxes:

A little help with the bow tie:

We took advantage of the boardroom setting:

Time to head to church, but wait...let me take a selfie :)

Chris's parents and sister were waiting to see him:

Upstairs it was time for Amara to get into her wedding dress with help from her mother and maid of honor Jenny

Amara's mother helped put on jewelry that belonged to her grandmother:

I love love love the reactions of Amara's family to seeing her for the first time!

We made our way to St John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley, MA for the wedding ceremony. Chris's mother hand-tied all of the bows around the programs!

Proud father and happy bride!

Chris was pretty excited to see Amara:

Emotional fathers:

St John's Church in Wellesley was a beautiful wedding ceremony venue:

Amara and Chris were two of the happiest people I've ever seen getting married! No nerves, just huge smiles and joy!

A kiss makes it all official!

Married!!!

Amara and Chris chose not to see each other before the ceremony but they didn't want to rush and squeeze all of their pictures into a tiny spot of time so they (smartly) delayed the start of cocktail hour. A wise decision - if we have less than an hour for pictures we'll only have time for the very basic family groups, a few quick pictures with the bridesmaids and groomsmen and then a few with the couple!

Golf carts brought everyone to the picturesque 18th hole for pictures:

Relaxed yet totally mantel-worthy family pictures:

The stylish wedding party, loving the navy Dessy bridesmaid dresses:

Amara's bridesmaids were not only beautiful, they were also such a fun group of girls!

Chris also had a pretty phenomenal group of friends

I then had a lovely 30 minutes of time to photograph Amara and Chris. In an ideal world I'd only photograph couples in the hour before sunset - the light is so lovely, soft and flattering. We did some traditional portraits and then Amara and Chris showed off their goofy sides:

A big thanks to Chris's father who chauffeured us around in a golf cart and prevented any one hitting us with flying golf balls! The image on the right is Audrey's:

Amara and Chris make such a good couple, they go from silly to romantic in a second and you just know they'll be so happy together!

A surprise visit from a koala ;) you might also see more koalas on the top of the wedding cake!

Pictures over, Amara and Chris got to join all of their friends and family who were enjoying signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres

Guests picked up their escort cards and made their way into the ballroom which looked so elegant with the fragrant centerpieces, candles and gold chiavari chairs:

Amara and Chris made their entrances and went into a pretty impressive first dance to L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole. You'd expect no less from a couple who danced together in the diSiac group at Princeton!

And then the music merged into a Bruno Mars song and the rest of the diSiacs joined the newlyweds on the dancefloor for a choreographed routine and killed it:

Amara's brother  MC'd the evening and introduced both fathers who made pretty amazing speeches. Amara and Chris both come from incredibly loving and supportive families and it was such an honor to photograph the whole day, Audrey and I felt so very welcome! MOH Jenny and Best Man Jonah had everyone laughing and then tearing up.

Love this picture of Amara and Chris during the toasts. If you're planning your own wedding and you'd like a picture similar to this then think carefully about where you sit. So many venues want to stick you in the corner/up against a wall which can look a little sterile - like there's just two of you at the wedding! Having people seated behind you makes a world of difference! Here's a helpful blog post about choosing your seating wisely.

After dinner it was time for parent dances with Amara's brother cutting in for a little dance:

Amara & Chris's friends and family REALLY know how to dance. Combine the dance skills with one of Boston's best wedding bands SOHO and it was a recipe for a packed dancefloor all night!

We snuck outside for a few minutes to cool down and take a couple of nighttime pictures

And then it was back to the dancefloor craziness:

Amara & Chris - from our initial discussions over drinks to your early morning Boston engagement pictures to your amazing wedding - it's been an absolute pleasure getting to know you both. You both have the most amazing families (thanks to Mrs White for the tour of Wellesley CC, Mr White for driving the golf cart and operating the koala, Mr & Mrs Suebsaeng for the beautiful wraps from Thailand - we were spoiled!!!). Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, health, happiness and always dancing together!!!

Have a great week! Next up will be Toby & Jesse's Taj Boston wedding followed by a couple of engagement shoots and then Alyssa & Will's Wentworth-by-the-Sea wedding and then Danielle & Mike's Seaport Hotel Boston wedding!
