Wedding Pictures at The Chanler at Cliff Walk, Newport, RI :: Amanda and Matt

Today's wedding is from alllllllll the way back in August but it's been kept closely under wraps as Amanda and Matt were having multiple wedding receptions and they asked me to keep the pictures secret until all of the celebrations were complete.

Multiple wedding celebrations you say? Do Amanda and Matt think they're Amal and George or something? :) Nah, Amanda and Matt are two of the sweetest most down to earth people but they're not originally from the New England area. They sensibly decided to have a wonderfully intimate wedding ceremony with just immediate family present and their parents kindly threw more parties afterwards!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, prepare for the most delightful way to spend a Thursday afternoon in Newport, RI… Amanda and Matt had rented a great property and Amanda got ready upstairs...

Amanda's father seeing her as a bride for the first time:

Downstairs, Matt was chilling with the guys and wrestling with his tie:

Amanda couldn't have looked lovelier or been more relaxed/excited to marry Matt! Once she was dressed she was all, "What are we waiting for? Let's just go do this!"

Matt was also pretty relaxed as we took the trolley over to The Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport, RI

If you haven't been to The Chanler at Cliff Walk I would highly recommend checking it out and booking a stay for a special occasion. It's a stunning property, amazing views, fabulous food, complimentary shuttle into downtown Newport. After being wowed at Amanda & Matt's wedding I actually tried to switch out Maine staycation to a RI staycation but alas, The Chanler was fully booked :

The wedding took place in a secluded grassy clearing shaded by tall trees. It was short and sweet and wonderfully officiated by Matt's friend. Matt barely held it together.

Married! We took advantage of the location for some relaxed family pictures:

Then walked over to the lawn for cocktail hour…if you're looking at Amanda's dress and thinking "Wow!" that's because a) it's Amanda wearing it and b) it's from my very favorite bridal/bridesmaid store Flair (by designer Amy Kuschel)

Mmmmmm truffled tater tots:

As if all of the champagne and delicious hors d'oeuvres weren't enough, Matt and Amanda hosted a 7 course dinner with wine pairings for their guests in a private dining room at The Chanler. There was much laughter and even a few tears at the many speeches and toasts.

After dinner I spent a few minutes exploring the beautiful ground of The Chanler with Amanda and Matt:

Could this day get any better? I don't think so! Amanda and Matt chartered a private schooner - The Aquidneck - for a sunset sail with all of their Boston based friends

This is one of my favorites of the day:

The Aquidneck sailing team were fabulous, topping up everyone's champagne glasses and even allowing me to jump up on some kind of platform to get this group picture:

Amanda's mom had lovingly prepared pots of homemade jam and honey for all of the guests to take home:

A couple of late night pictures before everyone headed off to the after-party!

Amanda & Matt - congratulations! Your wedding day was absolutely perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of documenting it! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, health and happiness!

I'm heading out to Salem, MA to take engagement pictures this afternoon, next up on the blog I'll have a couple of fabulous engagement sessions in Boston and Washington DC, then it'll be Ariel & Bow's wedding on the Cape, Brigitte & Jon's wedding in Conneticut, Janine & Nancy's Gibett Hill Barn wedding, Beth & Jeremy's Fairmont Copley Wedding and then Holly & Loren's Wentworth-by-the-Sea celebrations!
