Sunday Reading :: Week 7

So this week I'll be listing some random quotes/comments - perhaps they'll be inspirational as you plan your toasts or maybe just make you think for a minute.

To start on this lovely Spring morning, I have a submission from a regular blog reader who nominated the words on her Philosophy fragrance, very apropos advice:

When it comes to love you need not fall but rather surrender. Surrender to the idea that you must love yourself before you can love another. You must absolutely trust yourself before you can absolutely trust another and most importantly you must accept your flaws before you can accept the flaws of another

Next up, is a beautiful statement, perfect for a toast or a speech or even to be written in a guest signature album:

May the best of your todays, be the worst of your tomorrows

And the source? Jay-Z in Young Forever. Who'd have thunk it? Much as I like Mr. Hudson and his rather strange little white ankle socks, I kind of prefer the version with Mrs Z, also known as the most fabulous Beyonce:

My third quote is an interesting one from Henry Ford who says:

Coming together is a beginning;
keeping together is progress;
working together is success.

And to finish, how about an amusing yet heartfelt end to a Best (wo)Man speech:

May all of your ups and downs only be between the sheets

Go Michele! One of my favorite toasts of 2009.

That's it for Sunday reading this week, feel free to submit your favorite readings, poems, essays, comments, quotes in the comments area! And check back in a few hours for some B-E-A-utiful engagement photographs in Newburyport....
