Migis Lodge Wedding Photographs :: Rustic Maine Camp Wedding Venue :: Maine Wedding Photographer

Last year, Paul and I bought a home in Maine, it sits on Thomas Pond and it's a little piece of heaven. We spend as much time as possible here and as soon as I cross over the state line into Maine I feel 200% more relaxed.

Just across the street from our home is Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake, I'd driven past the rustic wooden sign numerous times before I decided to check out this intriguing place. And what do you know? It's only the best venue for a Maine destination wedding and it's just 2 miles from my house. As a wedding photographer, I'm sure you can imagine my delight and subsequent mad desire to photograph a wedding at Migis Lodge.

Enter Geneve of Geneve Hoffman Photography. Geneve and I are friends from the Maine Photographer meet-ups that happen monthly and I've long admired her work. Her images have a lovely airy and organic feel to them and she's a super talented storyteller. We got to chatting and I mentioned how much I wanted to photograph a wedding at Migis. Geneve was all "Oh yeah, I've got two weddings there in May." so I harassed convinced her to let me second shoot for her. Thank you Geneve!!! You can find Geneve's beautiful account of the day right **here** and let's just say that Migis Lodge did not disappoint. If you're thinking of getting married in Maine and you're still searching for a location here's what you'll find at Migis:
- A picturesque rustic Maine summer camp atmosphere
- Two locations for an outdoor Maine wedding ceremony - the waterfront lawn near the main dock or the patio overlooking Sebago (Lake Sebago as the backdrop for your wedding pictures? Yes please!)
- You can say your vows underneath the towering pine trees
- Your friends and family get exclusive use of the property with 35 cottages and 6 lodge rooms. You could have the most amazing wedding weekend - fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking all on offer
- Although Migis has a relaxed summer camp feel it's also probably the top resort in Maine with families vacationing here generation after generation for the very best amenities and service
- Truly amazing food and fantastic service (we had a great chat with the Chef who was lovely)

Some practical notes, you can only get married in the Spring (May and first weekends of June) and Fall (after Columbus Day until November) at Migis Lodge. I can't imagine a more beautiful location. I'm trying to convince Paul we should go for the weekend but it's hard to justify a vacation 4 minutes from home :)

Anyhoo - on with my pictures from the day which Geneve kindly let me share. It's been a couple of years since I second shot and I had a blast. It's nice not to have the usual pressure of the first photographer position once in a while. I hung out with Brian and the guys in the Lake House:

Time to head to the wedding

Did I mention that you get to arrive to your wedding ceremony on an antique Chris-Craft boat?

I had access to one of the beautiful lodge room balconies to get the next image:

And you get to go for a sail as newlyweds immediately after the ceremony:

Love this picture of the fathers of the bride and groom at cocktail hour:

Migis Lodge is beautiful! Did I say that already? Oh, five times already? OK, I'll be quiet now so you can enjoy some details:

Antique spoons for escort cards, awesome!
Happy first dance:
Mmmmmm a most delicious wedding feast:

During dinner Geneve took the newlyweds out for a little sunset stroll and kindly let me come too:

And with that I headed home for my long commute. Approximately 3 minutes and 40 seconds later I was sat on our dock with a glass of wine enjoying the "supermoon" of the evening:

What a day! Thank you to Geneve for letting me shoot for you! Thank you to the awesome bride and groom! Thank you to the groomsmen who were a blast to hang out with :) I learnt a lot about new sewing techniques for hemming pants ;) I can't wait to get back to Migis Lodge!
