Elm Bank Engagement Pictures :: Meredith + Melanie

Hello. If you've been wondering where the heck I've been let me tell you! Mostly behind the camera and in front of the computer or on the occasional plane!

I photographed Stefanie & Jason's wedding and then went engagement session crazy with Meredith & Melanie, Christine & Alex, Laura & Mike, Heather & Justin, then it was Cheryl & George's wedding followed by Beth & Frank's wedding. I also found time to present at the "Rock Your Blog" event in Boston and snuck home to the UK to see my ever-travelling husband and visit my grandmother and parents and then flew back for the epic wedding of Mallory & Matt on the Cape. Not to mention meeting with lots of couples for 2013 and preparing a bunch of magazine submissions. How about you? Did you miss me? Are you beside yourself with excitement to see all of the above mentioned couples on the blog?

Well, I won't keep you waiting. Let's start with Meredith & Melanie. They're getting married next month and I spent a wonderful sunny afternoon hanging out with their fabulous boys and then a hilarious rainy evening at Elm Bank.
Not only do I get to meet the most wonderful couples in my work but occasionally I get to meet superheroes. Let me introduce you to the amazing Spiderman who is also a very talented soccer player, guitar player, drummer and one of the funniest little boys I have ever had the pleasure to photograph:

The children stayed home for dinner and I then hung out with Meredith & Melanie (mostly in the rain!) for some engagement pictures of them alone

Meredith was living in NYC when the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center happened. It made her re-evaluate things and she started culinary school. This led to a move to Boston and then a mutual friend mentioned Melanie as someone that Meredith should meet...Melanie was just coming out of a relationship and so initially they were just friends:

After a slightly awkward coffee-shop date Meredith & Melanie found out they were both going to the same concert with a bunch of different friends and the friendship got kicked up a notch. After the concert came dancing and Meredith & Melanie found themselves spending a lot of time together.

Now the path of true love doesn't always run smoothly and Meredith & Melanie took a break to figure out some stuff. Luckily a year later they bumped into one another on a night out and that spark was still there. With the help of some love letters Meredith & Melanie were reunited! They've been together ever since and their family has grown from 2 to 3 and now 4 with their adorable sons and next month they'll make it official! I can't wait to document it all!

We'd rescheduled a couple of times due to inaccurate weather forecasts and finally we decided to go ahead regardless of the weather. Melanie and Meredith couldn't have been more chill about the rain and it was one of the most fun engagement sessions I've ever done: I took off my shoes and got into the water for these pictures, I think it was worth it!
One last picture of these two lovebirds: Meredith and Melanie - I had SO much fun photographing you both along with your beautiful children. Thank you for being so awesome to hang out with, the wine and the laughs. Please also thank the amazing Spiderman for our game of hungry hippos and his stellar rock concert performance. I cannot WAIT until next month!
