Ritz Carlton Boston Wedding + Church of the Covenant :: Sarah + Kevin

Hello! I have a wonderfully elegant wedding at the Ritz Carlton Boston Common for your viewing pleasure today! You know, as a New England wedding photographer I get kind of spoiled as we have so many amazing wedding venues right on our doorstep. The Ritz Carlton is one of the very best Boston wedding venues and it's such a great choice for your wedding.

Located right in the heart of downtown Boston which is great for your guests, the level of attention to detail and customer service are second to none and Ralph, Sarah and the whole team were fabulous. Most importantly the ballroom is absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting for your wedding reception of up to 200 guests with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Boston Common.
The wedding stationery was beautiful and I was wowed when I found out Sarah had made them herself! Calligraphy was by Cami Franklin
I like how Sarah and her bridesmaids felt the need to clarify her marital status ;)
Beautiful dress by Tara Keely by Lazarro from Christina's Bridal in Andover, MA
In love with Sarah's Jimmy Choos:
I like to set myself little challenges before each wedding, it makes me push myself to see new things/work harder - my challenge for this wedding was "reflections" so I kind of liked how I could see Sarah getting her make up done in the reflection of the windo. The hair (Lore Patterson) and make up (Dianna Quagenti) teams were both fabulous.
The always awesome Audrey was shooting with me as usual, Audrey took these pictures of Kevin writing a note to Sarah and then I took the picture of Sarah opening the note:
Kevin and his groomsmen looking very sharp:
Audrey rode in the limo with the guys to church and got this great shot of Kevin:
The wedding ceremony was at the Church of the Covenant. It's such a beautiful church, I've photographed a number of weddings there. Heads up - on a hot day it will get STEAMY hot inside. Sarah and Kevin were prepared with fans luckily!
Kevin waited to see Sarah for the first time:
Sarah's brother Anthony proudly walked her down the aisle...
...and Kevin got a little emotional
Beautiful Church of the Covenant Wedding Ceremony. Pastor Steve Murray held a very personal service.

Having photographed in this church before I knew that it's often possible to "hide" an additional photographer in one of the reading lecterns out of site. Thanks to Sarah who hid crouched down the ceremony and got the picture of Sarah on the right:
Not going to lie, the "jumping the broom" was one of my favorite parts of the ceremony:
I don't know if it was the heat (I think it was a steady 97 degrees for most of the day) but everything ran a little late on the wedding day. As Sarah and Kevin chose not to see one another before their ceremony it meant we had to get everyone into the transportation, drive over to the Public Gardens, take all of the family pictures, wedding party pictures and pictures of Sarah and Kevin, get everyone back into the cars, drive back to the Ritz Carlton IN LESS THAN 45 MINUTES. We did it but as a general rule it's nice (not to mention more relaxed) to have a little more time for pictures! Here's the wedding party:
We did some relaxed yet mantel-worthy family pictures:
Sarah's bridesmaids were such a fun bunch to hang out with. I'm also loving the purple of the dresses
Look at you guys!!!
I think this picture gives you a little glimpse of how great Kevin and Sarah are together.
Back at the Ritz Carlton cocktail hour was well underway, another example of Sarah's mad crafting/stationery skills. I love how "something old, something new" was incorporated into the signature cocktail menu:
Sarah and Kevin are both chefs (very talented chefs!) and so their escort cards were tiny little egg chefs. There was a little snafu with the transportation of the chef eggs and Sarah's dedicated bridesmaids stayed up to the early hours of the morning recreating and fixing the chef hats. Good friends indeed.
The ballroom at the Ritz Carlton is beautiful in it's own right. Once the silver linens, chargers and chiavari chairs were added by Be Our Guest, the stunning centerpieces by Susannes Weddings and the deep blue/pink uplighting by A Main Event were added it was even more spectacular.
The Cakes to Remember cake:
Wonderfully elegant glass and silver chargers. Sarah had a custom menu for each guest topped with a pink orchid:
The newlyweds made their grand entrance and went into their first dance, it all got a little emotional for Kevin's Mom:
Joey from A Main Event was awesome and kept the dancefloor absolutely packed:
Kevin danced with his Mom:
Kevin had put together the most thoughtful slideshow in memory of Sarah's parents. Laughter, tears and big hugs ensued:
We snuck outside for a breath of fresh air and a few nighttime pictures:
As we walked back up the staircase I noticed this kind of awesome reflection happening:
Before heading back in for some serious dancing:
Sarah & Kevin - congratulations!!! It has been an absolute pleasure working with you both and it was an honor to document your wedding day. Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, health and happiness!

Next up will be Kristin & Dustin's engagement pictures (I'm photographing them tonight!) followed by Libby & Blake's amazing wedding at The Colonnade Hotel.
