Hello! Did you miss me? I've somehow managed to photograph eleventy-seventeen weddings in May (I've been at the Boston Public Library, Mamma Maria, Migis Lodge (twice!), Willowdale Estate and the State Room - what!?!) and now it's time to start sharing them all with you! So get ready for some busy times on the blog.
May started with Carrie & Mike's elegant wedding at Old South Church and Boston Public Library
Winston's Flowers and Jimmy Choos - the perfect match!
Carrie's father seeing her for the first time:
Carrie & Mike decided to see each other before the ceremony. If you're at all nervous about having all eyes on you for your wedding ceremony it can be really nice to have a little alone time together on your wedding day. You can talk, hug, laugh (which you can't really do when you have your wedding officiant standing 12 inches away from you!) and it definitely relaxes most couples. We took a little walk around the Public Gardens to take some pictures.
It was then time to head over to Copley Square for the wedding ceremony at Old South Church.
Although they'd just spent some time together I loved Mike's expression seeing Carrie walk down the aisle with her dad. Thanks to Audrey for this image:
I had my good friend Kate McElwee join me for the day and Kate spent most of the ceremony up in the balcony of Old South Church. This is one of her pictures
It was a beautiful ceremony and Carrie and Mike couldn't have looked happier!
We took a few steps from Old South Church to get to the Boston Public Library for the wedding reception. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and cocktail from The Catered Affair out on the balcony. Kate covered cocktail hour while I photographed the families and wedding party.
As always it's an absolute pleasure to work with the TCA team. Erin Davies and Bryanne Pepin were super organized and on top of everything. The Guastavino Room looked spectacular set with beautiful linens, gold rim chargers, tiny tea lights, centerpieces from Winston Flowers and uplighting by Boston Uplights
Carrie and Mike wanted a very relaxed evening so they skipped the introductions and danced later in the evening so the reception opened with some amazing toasts by Carrie's father Bill, Carrie's sister and Maid of Honor Amy and Best Man Chris. Mike then gave a really touching speech about how he was so happy to find Carrie and how excited he was for their lives together.
After dinner we snuck outside for 5 minutes for some night time pictures on the iconic steps of the library
And arrived back with perfecting timing for the unveiling of the cake pop and brownie pop dessert table. I have a confession, when we left I may have taken a cake pop for the road. It was some kind of lemony-white-chocolate deliciousness and I wished I'd snagged two!
Splash! from Wilson Stevens Productions ROCKED the dancefloor - they were amazing! I should also mention that I worked alongside Mike and Whit from Boston Wedding Films and they were a pleasure to work with as always! I can't wait to see the wedding trailer! And a shout out to Joya Beauty and Hair That Moves - I loved how Carrie had her hair put up for the reception!
Carrie & Mike - congratulations!!! What a wonderful day it was! I was only sad that Sadie the dog couldn't be part of the day! Only another week until your first month anniversary! Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, health and happiness!
