Ogunquit Engagement Pictures :: The Marginal Way :: Janine + Nancy

Last week I spent a lovely afternoon taking engagement pictures of Janine and Nancy in one of their favorite places - Ogunquit, Maine.

We were joined by their most adorable Boxer puppies - Bruin and Jersey

A million years ago Janine was working at Friendly's whilst at college. Nancy came in with some mutual friends and at the end of dinner when Janine asked "Can I get you anything else?", Nancy replied with "Your number?" Janine politely declined but as luck would have it these two were attending the same school and a few weeks later they bumped into one another. This time Janine struck up a conversation with Nancy and a coffee date followed.

Fast forward 14 years and these two will be getting married at The Barn at Gibbet Hill in the fall!

After walking the pups around Ogunquit we made our way to the Marginal Way - a paved footpath that curves around the oceanfront for just over a mile. It's one of Janine and Nancy's favorite places to take a walk

Super cute!

If you haven't visited Ogunquit you really should, it's stunning!

Nancy & Janine - thanks for being so much fun to hang out with and for introducing me to Jonathan's (yummy lobster bisque!) and to your adorable dogs. I can't wait for October!!!

Perkins Cove, Maine Engagement Pictures :: Danielle + Mike

A couple of weeks ago on the most glorious Tuesday evening I met up with Danielle and Mike at Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, Maine to photograph their engagement pictures.

Danielle was friends with Mike's sister and she'd never really thought about Mike much as he was a few years older and off at college.
One day they found themselves at a family event.  Mike walked over to Danielle, put his arm around her and stated, "I'm going to take you on a date."

Can you guess what date Danielle and Mike will get married on? I think this might be the most popular date in 2014. Since Danielle and Mike booked me I've turned down 9 more inquiries!

In the end it was actually Danielle who asked Mike if he'd like to go see The Hangover with her (awesome movie choice!):
Fast forward and now they're planning their wedding at the Seaport Hotel in Boston next fall.
Mike's grandparents live in this area of Maine near the most stunning beach, we had amazing light to work with. Deep blue skies in one direction, pale pink skies in the other. Fiery golden sunsets. I might have to only do engagement sessions here in the future!
Mike wanted to propose around Easter time so he thought he'd hide the engagement ring inside some kind of egg, he ended up with it in a giant blue gumball container. Danielle said yes!
Danielle & Mike - I hope you like this handful of my favorites, the rest are uploading as I type! I can't WAIT for your wedding next fall!
