Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux

Yesterday, I posted a preview of Brett and Georgette before their wedding, and so now let's continue...

...one last "getting ready" shot before we head off to the ceremony...how cute are the flower girls?

Brett and Georgette chose The Beachmoor Inn at Buzzards Bay for their ceremony; primarily so they could get married outside overlooking the beach. When the weather didn't comply (in a BIG way, it was torrential rain, flooding, the whole nine yards), I know they were a little disappointed.

But let's consider what the French have to say on the topic of rain during a wedding - Marriage pluvieux, marriage heureux - which means "a rainy wedding equals a happy marriage". And it's not just the French who believe in this concept. Ask the Italians and they'll say "Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata" which roughly translates as a wet bride equals a lucky and happy bride.

So back to the wedding, as Georgette entered on the arm of her father, there was an old Hollywood feel, so I've added a little old Hollywood feel to this image:

And I have to post this one, Georgette's brother escorted their Mom down the aisle, love the way he gently hugs her before she sits to watch her daughter get married...

Laughter during the ceremony is brilliant - everyone relaxes a little bit and it makes the day that little bit sweeter:

During the ceremony, the couple were asked to hold hands. Brett held his hands out and Georgette placed her hands in his, and it looked just like home:

By the power vested in me by the state of my blog, may I present to you the new Mr & Mrs Young:

Meet the parents; loving the understated style of Brett's Mom and Georgette's Mom.

Hello beautiful bridesmaids:

The guys didn't want to be outdone:

Can't beat a little wedding party jumping right?

I'm getting close to slowing down your computer due to too many images so I'm stopping here and starting a new post with the reception....
