Sacred Heart Church Wedding :: Boston North End Wedding :: Sarah & Joseph

Much as I love photographing huge weddings with 250+ guests in some of the larger Boston ballrooms, it can be a fun change of pace for me to photograph more intimate midweek weddings like Sarah & Joe's wedding a few weeks ago. Sarah and Joe met in California where Sarah is from and where Joe had recently moved for work, they've since moved to Texas but when they were making their wedding plans they settled on Joe's hometown of Boston.

I started my day with Sarah and the girls at the Boston Harbor Hotel where Jennifer Tawa and Hilary Warner were performing hair and make up magic respectively. First of all, Sarah's dress and shoes:

Meanwhile Audrey met up with Joe and the guys at The Liberty hotel. Joe's dad is a firefighter and so he'd arranged for the happy couple to travel to the church in style - on a fire truck!

After putting on her wedding dress we had just enough time for a few pre-ceremony pictures of Sarah in the lobby of the Boston Harbor Hotel before it was time to board the fire truck for the short ride to Sacred Heart Italian Church right in the middle of Boston's North End.

Sarah - could you look anymore beautiful!?!

Sacred Heart Italian Church is part of St Leonard's Parish and one of the most historic churches in Boston, not to mention being a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony. Joe waited patiently at the altar for Sarah to walk in on the arm of her proud father.

Married!!! This is Audrey's image from the balcony:

We took a short walk through the North End...

...stopping for some pretty light
...and on the waterfront. This was the first time I've worked alongside MapleLoft Studios and it was an absolute pleasure to work with the very talented (and very unobtrusive Keith and Heather)

Christopher Columbus Park was our location for relaxed family pictures:

Before making our way back to the North End for the intimate wedding reception in one of Mamma Maria's private dining rooms. If you haven't eaten at Mamma Maria you're missing out, I'd rate it as one of the top restaurants in the North End.

Centerpieces and Sarah's bouquet were by Winston Flowers:

Friends and family joined Sarah and Joe for a delicious dinner with lots of congratulatory toasts.

Sarah & Joe - Congratulations! What a beautiful wedding day! It was a pleasure finally getting to meet you both in person not to mention an honor to document your day! Wishing you a lifetime of love in Dallas, TX and wherever you go next!!!
