Turner Hill Wedding Photographer :: Julie + Jonathan (Part II)

It's Sunday evening, maybe you're playing some holiday music, maybe you're decorating your tree, maybe you have chestnuts roasting on an open fire...why not make some hot chocolate or have a glass of Baileys on ice to enjoy part II of Julie & Jonathan's Parisian/Peacock themed wedding extravaganza at the Mansion at Turner Hill.

If you missed the getting ready pictures you can find them **here** and the wedding ceremony pictures at Our Lady, Star of the Sea **here**

We're now at Turner Hill in Ipswich, MA. Turner Hill is one of the very best North Shore wedding venues. They have a beautiful outdoor wedding chapel, an ivy covered terrace for cocktail hour, a large tent with teak dancefloor, numerous rooms inside the mansion for dancing etc - it's an absolutely stunning location for a wedding:

Julie and Jonathan arrived in style:

With some delicious little hors d'oeuvres to enjoy we took some relaxed family and wedding party pictures:

I am in love with this picture of Julie:

I feel like there's an kind of Alice in Wonderland feel to the grounds of Turner Hill. I could have photographed Julie and Jonathan together all day :) I had to limit myself to 10-15 minutes so they could enjoy cocktail hour though ;)

I had my super talented photography BFF Kate McElwee along with me for the day. We try to shoot for each other at least once or twice a year as it's a really refreshing experience, I'm looking forward to returning the favor for Kate in January :) Kate took some fabulous detail/set up pictures while I took guest pictures at cocktail hour. Loved the tiny French postcards attached to a birdcage acting as escort cards and the French arrondissement signs as table names:

Julie's friend Chuck acted as MC to make the introductions and he was AWESOME!

Julie and Jonathan entered the tent to cheers and whoops and went straight into their first dance as husband and wife followed by some fairly hilarious toasts:

With dinner finished everyone adjourned to the mansion for the cake cutting:

This was the second time this year that I've seen The Pulse of Boston at a wedding and they ROCKED it!

Happy parent dances:

Julie & Jonathan's friends and family definitely know how to dance and have a good time!

Julie & Jonathan - I can't believe it's all over!!! Well, for me, not for you two who have the rest of your lives together! From that first meeting over martinis and truffled popcorn to learning about the delights of Regina Pizzeria to your impeccably planned and executed wedding, it has been SUCH a pleasure!!! I'm so happy I got to document your wedding day! Wishing you a lifetime of love involving lots of trips to Europe and long happy dinners of pasta and chianti!

Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church Wedding, Marblehead, MA :: Julie + Jonathan (Part Ib)

If you missed yesterday's getting ready pictures then check them out **here** otherwise we've got a wedding to get to people!!!

Julie & Jonathan chose Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead, MA for their wedding ceremony. It's a beautiful church with a wonderful grotto in the grounds, perfect for pictures.

I love how Jonathan just couldn't wait to see Julie walk down the aisle:

Now obviously when you see each other for the first time in church you can't really talk, but I think Julie is saying "Wow! There you are! We're about to get married!!!" ....

...and Jonathan (this image taken by the fab Kate McElwee who was with me for the day) is replying "Wow!!! Look at you!!! Let's get married!!!"

Such a beautiful church. And lots of cute and happy moments between Julie and Jonathan:

For the vows I took this image of Julie and Kate took the one of Jonathan:

There was a BIG kiss and a happy recessional and then it was off to fight the traffic as we attempted to drive through Salem, MA just days before Halloween!

The AMAZING reception at Turner Hill will be up next!!! A fabulous MC! Amazing band! Parisian macarons! Peacock feathers everywhere! Coming soon....

Our Lady, Star of the Sea Marblehead + Turner Hill Wedding Photographer :: Julie + Jonathan (Part Ia)

Earlier this week I promised Julie that her wedding to Jonathan was next up on the blog. Julie replied with this message:
"Jonathan being the prankster he is keeps fooling me saying the pics are on your blog. Coincidentally, the few times that he's done it I'm commuting home from work on the T and lose service or my phone dies... so I rush like a maniac running through dangerous intersections all while dodging oncoming traffic to get to a computer and see the pics! He's going to have to find a new prank to use on me since they'll be on this week!!"
So here's Part I of Julie & Jonathan's wedding pictures at Our Lady of the Sea, Marblehead, MA and Turner Hill....

...Julie and Jonathan got together over a shared love of great food and wine, you can see their engagement pictures in Boston's North End **here** and when I first met with them to discuss their wedding plans they explained their French/Parisian/Peacock vision.  I was hooked! I started the day at Julie's parent's home with some of the beautiful wedding stationery:

The lovely Brea was doing Julie's make up:

Julie is all kinds of awesome, not least in her attention to detail. I always suggest that my couples have any important details set aside for me to photograph without interrupting hair and make up. Julie not only had everything ready, she also set it up in a beautiful arrangement for me:

It's always a smart move to have a pair of flats so you can dance the night away:

Although when I spotted the peacock feather decoration on the front door I couldn't resist borrowing it for some ring shots:

I'm always excited to see wedding dresses and knowing that Julie's was a custom couture design I was even more excited, here's a little sneak peak of the design:

Here's a little glimpse:

Sometimes when the wedding dress goes on it all kind of becomes real. I LOVE Julie's "WOW!!! This is happening!!!" expression

The reaction of Julie's father Stephen seeing her as a bride for the first time. Ahhhh:

Regular blog readers will know I always have a soft spot for grandparents. Love Julie's Nana :)

Jonathan sent over a surprise gift of stunning earrings for Julie:

I had the most overqualified second shooter ever in Kate McElwee for this wedding. Kate and I are working on a number of joint projects...more to come on that soon...in the meantime, the images of the guys at church and Jonathan opening his gifts from Julie are all Kate's:

I got to a split in the blogging road here.  I had to choose to a) Take a Left and publish a mini blog post featuring the getting ready pictures tonight or b) Take a Right and wait until I had all of the ceremony pictures ready to go and post tomorrow.

I made an executive decision based on Julie's safety trying to read her smart phone in dangerous intersections and I'm publishing NOW. Ceremony and the most beautiful pictures of Julie & Jonathan, fabulous toasts and dancing all coming up next!!!!
