Halloween Wiener Bats :: Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I'm writing this in the airport en route back to Boston after a week of visiting with my family in the UK. I knew I'd be flying back on Halloween so minutes before I left the house last week I grabbed the dogs and took a couple of quick pictures so I can continue the tradition of posting pictures of dachshunds with lame costumes :)

Coco Chanel & Tiger Woods are thirteen years old now and they're getting grumpier and stinkier but the promise of a dog treat is usually all it takes to get them to sit for a minute, although this year they refused to sit together.

As usual they started off ignoring me:

Coco looked sad that I was subjecting her to the indignity of bat ears before getting into the Halloween spirit and channeling her inner Vampire Wiener:

And Tiger was just in it for the dog cookie:

Have a safe and happy Halloween! I'll be back next week with all sorts of lovely wedding posts and pictures!

If you'd like to see more pictures of miniature dachshunds in silly outfits, enjoy these links:

Happy Halloween from the Hallowieners 2013

With so many weddings and engagement pictures to share with you it's rare that I post personal stuff on the blog. I have to make an exception for Halloween though! Next up will be Melissa & Morris's North End engagement pictures and then the most stunning wedding of Lea & Aidan at the Boston Harbor Hotel but today I give you....the Hallowieners!!!

They've been SharkWieners

This year....BananaWieners! There were some technical issues and Coco Chanel was initially unable to see:

Paul to the rescue:
It's at times like these that I'm happy I'm a wedding photographer and not a dog photographer. The mini-d's don't follow direction so well:
This was as good as it was going to get. Coco Chanel is a stoic BananaWiener and Tiger Woods just looks defeated.
Tiger Woods decided to make a run for the warmth of the house discarding her banana costume on the way:
Happy Halloween!!!! How about those Red Sox eh? We're still up in the wilderness of Northern Maine but as soon as I'm back on Monday I'll have lots more wedding and engagement pictures for you!

In the meantime, if you're a Leah Haydock Photography wedding couple then check your email for your invitation to the inaugural LHP Client Appreciation evening. Sunday November 10th at 6:30pm in Boston - champagne, cheese from my fav Formaggio Kitchen, wine tasting and the Photo Booth for a new picture for your holiday cards! Not to mention surprise gifts and general merriment. Dress up or dress down. Come for the whole evening or stop by for 20 minutes. If you haven't seen your invitation shoot me a note at leah@leahhaydock dot com as I think a few ended up in spam. If you haven't yet replied please do!

Happy Halloween from the Hallowieners 2012

Happy Halloween!

Regular blog readers, facebook friends and real life friends will likely know that we have two miniature dachshunds. Coco Chanel and Tiger Woods (Tiger was named before the indiscretions of course). They're not really the kind of dogs that like to wear clothes except on major holidays.

Before we get to the 2012 Hallowieners, I would like to set the scene for this year's theme. I was googling "How to describe the theme from Jaws?" (bear with me, it will make sense in a minute)
- is it a duh-duh?
- or dun-dun?
- or du-du?
and I came across this most fabulous video. Please watch it (you'll need the sound up) and then have the music in your head when you look at the pictures below :)

Ladies and gentlemen...please let me introduce the 2012 Hallowieners...meet the WienerSharks...
I figured putting the shark dogs into water for pictures might be pushing it a bit so they were Land WienerSharks for the day:

My brave husband isn't afraid of any WienerSharks:

WienerSharks hunt in packs, each on the lookout for food:

WienerSharks are lethal predators. They're too mean and dangerous to smile for the camera:

These sharp-toothed WienerShark killers act in unison to bring down their prey:

WienerSharks silently stalk weaker animals:

Spotting an injured seal, the WienerSharks speed away to make a kill:

Happy Halloween from the Hallowieners....

Regular blog readers might be familiar with our two dogs. Coco Chanel and Tiger Woods. Paul and I named one dog each - can you guess which names we were each responsible for ;) I would also like to point out that Tiger Woods was named before the indiscretions....

Anyhoo, although they're miniature dachshunds we don't really dress them up in clothes. But I make an exceptions for holidays :) So Happy Halloween from the Hallowieners!

Here's Coco:

And Tiger, she's already white on her face at only 8 years old:
