Boston Baby Photographer :: Baby Mia

Way back when in 2013, I photographed Christine & Alex's wedding at Wequassett Resort and it was all kinds of awesome with emotional letter-reading during the first look, a coach diversion resulting in extra fun before the ceremony and one of the best father-daughter surprise dances ever.

So it was a delight to catch up with them earlier this month to meet their adorable newborn daughter, Mia:

Smiling in her sleep or a little baby gas? I'll take it.

Cutest baby ever!

Congratulations Christine & Alex! Baby Mia couldn't be luckier to have you two as parents!

Baby Photographer in Andover, MA :: Introducing Baby AJ!

One of the things that makes me super happy is catching up with previous wedding couples and seeing their wedding pictures framed and displayed in their homes. Photos are meant to be printed and displayed not languishing on discs or flash drives in a draw!

And the reason I was at Elizabeth & AJ's home? To take pictures of Baby AJ!

Milo the dog has adjusted well to the new addition to the home:

Milo kept a close eye on baby AJ during the shoot:

Proud parents!!!

Elizabeth & AJ - congratulations on the arrival of Baby AJ! It was so lovely to see you both again!!!

A bunch of adorable little newborn babies! :: Maine and Boston Newborn Photographer

If you're a regular blog reader then you'll know that 95% of my posts are weddings and engagement pictures. Once in a while I like to surprise you all with some super cute babies! I thought I'd recap some of the baby pictures I've taken recently.

I'll start with Katie and John. They were married at Wollaston Golf Club and just welcomed baby Maeve to their family. Maeve made the cutest little squeaking noises throughout our mini photo session!

A couple of weeks ago I visited with LeeAnne and Josh in Wells, Maine. I was their Laudholm Farm Wedding Photographer and it was a blast to see them all settled in their new home and meet baby Benjamin

And then just last week I made my way to Hingham to meet up with Jo-Ann and Ben whose wedding I photographed at Glen Magna Farms. This time it was time to meet baby Josephine.  Newborn babies are obviously fairly unpredictable so when Josephine decided it was time for lunch I played with the cats :)

I hope that satisfied any cravings you might have had for cute baby pictures! If you'd like to schedule your own newborn or family photoshoot then email me at leah@leahhaydock.com for pricing and other information!

Next up will be some rather exciting "Best Of" posts!

And one last housekeeping announcement, if you're procrastinating on ordering any professional prints  then WEDNESDAY DEC 18th is the last day if you'd like them to arrive in time for the holidays!

Charlestown Family Photographer :: Baby Thomas

As a photographer I'm given access to pretty huge moments in people's lives. I get to know couples in the run up to the big day, hear their hopes for their wedding day and marriage. I'm there when a bride puts on her wedding dress, I get to document the look on a groom's face when he sees his significant other for the first time. I'm in the heart of sometimes really intimate family moments and then as the wedding reception winds up - I head out into the night and that's it.

So it's great when I get to photograph new arrivals to the family and catch up with former wedding clients! I've been lucky enough to photograph Becky & Duke's wedding, the arrival of their first born son August, his first birthday and now it's time for Baby Thomas!

August had just woken up from a nap so was a little shy at first but the millions of buttons on my camera enticed him over. He even took a selfie:

Becky's parents were visiting/helping out as Duke was in work:

August and Thomas hung out a little:

Thomas was exhausted after his first photoshoot so I headed out to photograph Ashlee and Eric's engagement session which is coming up next on the blog!

Maternity Pictures on the Beach :: Kerianne + Adam

Good morning! Let's switch it up from all of the wedding and engagement pictures I've been sharing with you. Today I have a great couple for you - Kerianne and Adam - and a baby bump!

Some of you will likely recognize Kerianne as part of the super talented team at Les Fleurs in Andover, MA - one of my very favorite flower designers. If you're in the Andover, MA area you have to stop by - they have the most BEAUTIFUL arrangements and plants and things for your home in the store. Kerianne asked me if I could recommend a photographer to take some maternity pictures and whilst I usually stick to weddings and engagements I couldn't say no. Kerianne and the whole Les Fleurs team have been SO wonderful to work with at so many weddings - from bringing all the flowers in a day early to avoid the traffic ban in the blizzard to making up a perfect little bouquet for an out-of-town couple eloping in Boston - that I was happy to do a mini maternity shoot!

Kerianne and Adam actually met in high school and were friends growing up. Adam smiled as he told me Kerianne was his first kiss. Life took them in different directions and they lost touch for a while.

Kerianne made this beautiful flower crown:

And I figured I'd play with my tilt-shift lens:

More recently Adam was on vacation at the lake when Kerianne texted him. He was delighted to hear from her and called her immediately. They made plans to meet up and boom - now they're engaged and having a baby!

Kerianne & Adam - hope you like these! Can't wait to meet your new baby!

Melrose Baby Photographer :: Meet Baby Julien

Back in 2012 I photographed Julie & Jonathan's amazing wedding at Turner Hill:

When I arrived at their Melrose home a few weeks ago I was happy to see lots of wedding pictures framed on the walls and on the mantelpiece, and even happier to see all sorts of cards congratulating them on the new member of their family. And here's baby Julien just hanging out:

Julie and Jonathan were making parenthood look easy:

The many faces of Julien who was mostly bemused having my giant camera in his face:

Julie & Jonathan - it was so lovely to catch up with you both again and to meet the adorable new addition to your family! Congratulations!!!

Dog photographer in Newburyport :: Introducing Elvis

Last year I photographed Jessica & Scott's wedding at the Boston Public Library, you can see more here:
Boston Public Library Wedding Photographer
Through the wonders of facebook I knew that Jessica and Scott had adopted a baby French bulldog named Elvis and so I was delighted when they got in touch to ask me if I would take some pictures of the three of them:
How adorable is Elvis? He looked like something you would find at Build-a-Bear. I wanted to squeeze him :)

We met up at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport and there were a lot of treats involved in getting Elvis's attention:

Elvis has a favorite spot right in the crook of Scott's neck
A flying Elvis
Elvis likes to be tickled and will giggle/snort
Jessica & Scott - it was lovely to see you both again and to meet Elvis! He's adorable and I was tempted to dog-nap him and bring him home with me! Although I think the wiener dogs wouldn't be too impressed with another dog in the house :)
